The release comes at a time when defence forces globally - including the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and its allies - are increasing investment in synthetic environments to accelerate capability development, improve operational readiness and reduce the cost and risk associated with live testing.
Developed in Australia, Infinite Studio is already being deployed and integrated across allied defence ecosystems, including by the United Kingdom’s Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), US Government agencies and major defence companies - demonstrating growing international demand for sovereign Australian modelling and simulation technology.
Infinite Studio enables users to create realistic virtual environments that model how terrain, infrastructure, sensors and environmental conditions interact in the operational environment.
Rebecca Humble, Chief Executive Officer, Aurizn, said the release reflects the growing importance of synthetic environments in modern defence capability development.
“Defence organisations are increasingly relying on synthetic environments to reduce risk, accelerate capability development and prepare for complex operational scenarios before committing resources in the real world,” said Ms Humble.
“What makes Infinite Studio particularly significant is that it is sovereign Australian technology that is not only supporting Defence here at home, but is also being deployed by trusted partners across the United Kingdom and United States.”
Version 4.2 introduces a series of major enhancements, including:
- Greater scalability for large-area and multi-domain environments.
- New volumetric cloud placement tools enabling users to create and manage custom cloud regions within synthetic operational environments.
- Improved scene realism through Direct View Lights technology, enabling simulated cameras to capture radiance directly from light sources rather than only reflected light.
- Expanded support for synthetic test and evaluation workflows across complex operational conditions.
- Faster scenario generation for mission rehearsal, experimentation and digital engineering activities with the inclusion of multiple new multispectral Landscapes and Asset packs.
- Improved interoperability with broader modelling and simulation ecosystems.
